Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision in Market Weighton, supporting KS3 and KS4 students. You will work closely with teachers, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help students manage SEMH and behavioural needs in a practical, relationship-led setting.

The role requires patience, resilience and confidence with challenging behaviours. A full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential to fulfil duties across the provision.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEMH, behavioural and additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Patience, resilience and confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS3 and KS4 students.
• Assist teachers in classroom and practical activities.
• Support students during outdoor and activity-based sessions.
• Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations to promote a safe learning environment.
