Support Worker Responsibilities:

• Supporting children and young people with SEMH needs, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and other social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
• Promoting independence by supporting life skills such as cooking and managing finances.
• Managing classroom behaviors, being aware of triggers, and using de-escalation techniques.

Support Worker Requirements:

• Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher, such as NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Have at least 6 months of experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a care or school setting.
• Be a strong and engaging communicator.
• Be compassionate, caring, and genuinely interested in helping young people overcome barriers.
• Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through Academics.
