Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting SEMH Support Assistants to work in specialist schools in Dorchester supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). This role pays £14.30 per hour and requires availability of at least 4 days per week.

You will support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, help manage behaviour in a positive and structured way, build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage engagement in lessons within a calm environment.

Qualifications

• Available minimum 4 days per week
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply
• Strong communication and resilience

Many students have EHCPs and require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The role

Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis

Helping manage behaviour in a positive and structured way

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Encouraging engagement in lessons

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

Schools or education

Youth work

Care or residential support

Sports coaching

Requirements

Available minimum 4 days per week

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Strong communication and resilience

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with behavioural and emotional challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
