Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils (11-16) with SEMH needs in a specialist educational setting in Liverpool. You will provide tailored classroom and 1:1 support to help pupils engage, build relationships and reach their potential.

The role requires prior SEMH experience, strong behaviour management, a patient and resilient approach, and a current DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged pupils within a specialist educational setting. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will provide tailored support both within the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, helping students engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and reach their full potential.

  • Previous experience working within an SEMH educational setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting secondary-aged students.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
