Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant for Kitts Green Academy in Birmingham to support pupils with SEMH, ASC and ADHD. The role is full-time and long-term, with a focus on building supportive relationships and helping pupils access learning.

We welcome candidates with transferable experience from youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching or community settings who are calm, patient and resilient.

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching, or community settings is desirable.
  • Interest in moving into education and working with pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom-based support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour.
  • Reinforce clear, consistent boundaries.
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Help pupils overcome barriers to engagement.
  • Support teachers with classroom activities and interventions.
  • Act as a positive role model.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and confidence.
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team.
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
