Job summary

Academics is seeking motivated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work from September for a range of specialised education schools primarily based in Birmingham, supporting students in Key Stage 3 and 4. The role involves 1-to-1 or small group support, helping students gain confidence and engage with learning.

Personal care support may be required; no formal qualifications are necessary, though experience in Early Years, SEND or SEMH is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1-to-1 or group support for students.
• Supporting students gaining confidence and interest towards education.
• Assisting pupils with a range of additional needs which may require personal care.
• Work closely with both the SENDCO and teacher to deliver relevant and tailored learning plans.
• The role may include assisting with personal care, therefore candidates must be able to support the pupils personal care needs with patience and compassion.
