  • Support teachers with classroom activities and interventions.
  • Act as a positive role model.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and confidence.
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.

Location: Kitts Green Academy, Birmingham
Daily Rate: £92.56-£105 per day, depending on experience and qualifications
Start Date:October 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term

Job Summary

Do you have experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs?

We are working with Kitts Green Academy in Birmingham to recruit a committed Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant to join their specialist team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to move into education and has transferable experience from youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching, support work or community settings.

The School and Role

Kitts Green Academy is a specialist setting supporting boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with some pupils also presenting with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and ADHD.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to help pupils access their education, manage their behaviour and develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

This is a hands‑on role where relationships are just as important as academic support.

You will help create a calm and positive classroom environment, provide encouragement when pupils find learning difficult and support them to make positive choices.
