Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a Learning Mentor to support secondary students with SEMH needs, including those with learning difficulties and self-esteem challenges. The role focuses on one-to-one support and small-group activities to help students progress academically and emotionally.

You will work alongside teachers to facilitate learning, promote positive behaviour, and build nurturing, trusting relationships in a calm environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is not essential.
• This role would suit graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants, or anyone with a genuine interest in working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and learning tasks
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development
• Help create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
• Create positive, trusting relationships with students.
