Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment in Salisbury is seeking a Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a specialist school.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access learning, and work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals. A calm, patient approach and commitment to inclusive education are essential to helping students thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in school, care, youth work or similar settings.
• Experience supporting SEMH, SEND, autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for inclusive education and helping young people reach their potential.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 TA support and small-group interventions.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, ASC, ADHD and trauma-related needs.
• Help students access learning and stay engaged throughout the day.
• Implement positive behaviour management and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence, communication, and social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other education professionals.
• Build trusting relationships to promote confidence and success.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
