Job summary

Educato Limited is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs across Hyde. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support to help learners access education, using positive strategies to foster emotional regulation and resilience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in education or youth work, with strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, emotional or social needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring or residential care.
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement or behaviour.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access education.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
• Support pupils in developing coping strategies, resilience, confidence and social skills.
• Help pupils manage challenging situations and work towards individual targets.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to maintain a safe and structured environment.
• Encourage positive choices, consistent routines and improved attitudes towards learning.
