Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a Learning Behaviour Mentor (SEMH) to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in mainstream and SEN settings. You will work 1-1 and in groups to develop emotional skills and resilience, enhancing their engagement with learning.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, engage with families, and implement targeted strategies. Prior experience in youth work or education support is valued, with an emphasis on safeguarding and reflective

Qualifications

Ability to empathise with vulnerable pupils & patiently build trust and rapport.
Utilise emotional resilience with the capacity to stay calm under intense pressure and set clear boundaries.
Strong communication skills with active listening and conflict resolution abilities.
Experience in working with children/youth in volunteer or paid roles.
Academic baseline of GCSE English/Maths.
Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Provide 1-1 and group support to aid development in social and emotional skills.
Support in academic studies and deliver interventions.
De-escalate challenging environments with calming strategies.
Engage in activities that build life skills and emotional regulation.
Work closely with teachers and school staff.
Communicate with parents/carers to support student needs.
Collaborate with SEN specialists in emotional regulation and social development.
