Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEMH provision in Mid/North Essex. You’ll work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting them 1:1 and in small groups to encourage engagement in learning.

The role is full-time and long-term, with sites in Witham, Heybridge, Colchester and Clacton. A positive, proactive attitude and strong communication are essential; experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
• A positive, resilient and proactive attitude is required.
• Experience in education, social care or support work is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Helping to manage behaviour and encourage engagement in learning.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
