Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a Learning Behaviour Mentor (SEMH) to support pupils in Huddersfield and surrounding areas in mainstream schools, SEN units, and APs. You will help students regulate emotions, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with teachers to ensure progress.

The role requires empathy, resilience, and excellent communication with pupils, families, and staff. DBS check is mandatory; agency CPD opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Empathise with vulnerable pupils and build trust.
• Strong communication and active listening.
• Experience with children, youth work, or care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 and group support to develop social and emotional skills.
• Support academic studies and deliver interventions.
• De-escalate challenging environments using calming strategies.
• Build life skills and emotional regulation in students.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support pupils.
• Communicate with parents and carers to align support.
• Work with SEN specialists to support emotional development.
