Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour & Resilience Mentor for a specialist secondary setting in the Trafford area, supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, including ASC, ADHD, anxiety, attachment difficulties, trauma-related behaviours, emotional regulation needs, low self-esteem, and challenging behaviour.

The Role involves working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students both academically and emotionally, building strong relationships and contributing

Qualifications

Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional learning needs.
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
Calm, resilient, and patient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for SEMH needs.
Implement behaviour support strategies and intervention plans.
Support students during lessons to encourage engagement and achievement.
Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills.
Manage challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches.
Promote attendance, wellbeing, and personal development.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
