Job summary

Justteachers Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant for a specialist school in Leeds. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, helping them manage emotions and behaviour in and out of the classroom.

We are looking for a calm, patient candidate with strong communication skills to engage with students and staff. This role offers ongoing training and the chance to make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, resilient and patient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to students.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies in and out of the classroom.
• Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders.
• Encourage participation, engagement and personal development.
