Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a specialist SEMH setting in Corby. You will supervise lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay engaged while maintaining a calm, safe learning environment.

Candidates should have experience with SEMH or similar settings, and be patient, consistent, and able to build positive relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviour. This is a long-term, full-time role with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in SEMH or similar settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work.
• Support students to stay focused and engaged with learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently per school policies.
• Support students with emotional regulation and de-escalation.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on engagement and progress.
• Support 1:1 or small-group work as needed.
