Job summary

Five Education are seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support SEMH pupils at a secondary school. You will oversee lessons in the absence of the class teacher, with small classes of 8-10 and a supportive team.

The role focuses on safeguarding and behavioural management with emphasis on pupils' wellbeing and engagement. You’ll contribute to a calm, structured learning environment while adhering to school policies and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people.
• Ability to confidently manage classroom behaviour and build positive relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience and adaptability in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Maintain engagement and support for pupils during the school day.
• Work with small classes (8–10 students) and LSAs to ensure learning progress.
