Job summary

Hampshire County Council in Hampshire is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to aid pupils with SEMH needs within the Primary Behaviour Service. You will deliver targeted interventions and work with schools, families and professionals to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

You will support expansion into Key Stage 3 settings and contribute to workforce development and training initiatives, while maintaining confidential records and evaluating outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of child development and factors affecting access and engagement in education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, families, schools and professionals.
• Ability to stay calm, professional and solution-focused when managing challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and participation.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation techniques and agreed strategies.
• Work with schools, families and partner agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
• Model and share good practice, contributing to behaviour support consultation, training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews and evaluate impact of support.
