Job summary

Academics Ltd in Headington is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a welcoming specialist school serving pupils aged 5–16 with SEMH and additional needs. You’ll support students with a range of needs, helping them stay engaged and reach their potential.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment, deliver tailored interventions, and build strong relationships.

Qualifications

  • A calm, positive, and supportive approach.
  • Genuine interest in behaviour support and child development.
  • Confidence in building rapport and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential).
  • An interest in education, psychology, mental health, or youth work would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in the classroom to remain focused and engaged.
  • Managing behaviour using positive and proactive strategies.
  • Delivering tailored interventions and individual support plans.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social development.
  • Working collaboratively with staff to provide consistent support.
