Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker in Aldershot to support pupils with SEMH needs. You will deliver targeted interventions, use de-escalation techniques and work with schools, families and other professionals to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

This on-site permanent role offers opportunities to expand provision, contribute to workforce development, and join a collaborative team making a real difference to children and young people.

Qualifications

• Experience working in secondary schools with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of child development and factors affecting access to education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, families, schools and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning and participation.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation techniques.
• Work with schools, families and partner agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
• Model and share good practice, contributing to behaviour support consultation, advice, training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records and help evaluate impact of support provided.
