Job summary

Shaw Education Trust is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support / Intervention Practitioner to join our SEMH-focused schools. You will provide targeted behavioural and emotional support to pupils, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to improve engagement and wellbeing.

You will build strong relationships with students, staff and families, using restorative approaches to manage behaviours and collaborating with a wide network of professionals. A rewarding role within a purpose-driven trust.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs in pupils.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Patience, empathy and resilience with consistency.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches is desirable.
• Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, counselling or behaviour support are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behavioural and emotional support to SEMH pupils.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focusing on behaviour and wellbeing.
• Build trusting relationships with students, staff and families.
• Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours using restorative methods.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments and progress monitoring.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
