Job summary

The Shaw Education Trust is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support/Intervention Practitioner to support pupils with SEMH needs across our schools. The role focuses on targeted behavioural and emotional support, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, and building strong relationships with students, families and staff.

You will contribute to risk assessments and progress monitoring, promote a safe and inclusive environment, and work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals to

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Patience, empathy, resilience and consistency.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice desirable.
• Qualifications in education/youth work/psychology/behaviour support advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behavioural and emotional support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff and families.
• Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours using restorative approaches.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and progress monitoring.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
