Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist secondary SEMH school in Salford from September. You will provide 1:1 and small group behavioural and emotional support to students aged 11-16, helping them regulate emotions and develop coping strategies in and out of class.

The role offers rewarding work with a supportive team, opportunities for CPD, and potential long-term positions.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs.
Full UK driving licence.
Access to your own vehicle.
Ability to work full-time from September.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small group behavioural and emotional support.
Building trusting relationships with students who may have experienced significant challenges in education.
Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using a calm and proactive approach.
Acting as a positive role model and mentor for students.
Promoting independence, confidence and personal development.
Contributing to behaviour support plans and monitoring student progress.
Supporting educational visits and community-based learning activities where required.
