Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking a patient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH in a specialist setting. You will help create a structured, safe environment where pupils feel emotionally supported and able to engage in learning.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, using positive strategies and clear communication. Training in SEMH/SEND, Team Teach, and ongoing consultant support are provided, with opportunities across specialist settings.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, mental health, youth work or SEND.
• Calm, consistent approach, even on tricky days.
• Patience, empathy and a steady presence in supporting behaviour and mental health.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Use positive strategies to support behavioural needs and SEMH needs.
• Assist with routines, transitions and sensory needs.
• Use clear communication and visual strategies.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and therapists.
