Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and confident in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Establish clear boundaries while being nurturing.
• Proactive, reliable and committed to helping pupils succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH.
• Support pupils to engage positively with learning and school life.
• Help manage behaviour using positive, consistent approaches.
• Support with de-escalation when pupils are distressed.
• Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence and resilience.
• Work with teaching and support staff to provide consistent support.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and make progress.
