Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Bristol is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students with SEMH needs in a specialist school. This role involves building trusted relationships with pupils, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Background in education, mentoring, youth work, care, or support work desirable.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff.
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
