Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Salford is seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs in a specialist school. This full-time role runs during term time starting September, with a focus on behaviour support and positive learning engagement.

You will work closely with teachers to implement strategies, build relationships, and promote wellbeing, with opportunities for ongoing CPD and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs.
• Patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom and around the school.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
• Build positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
• Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
