Job summary

Justteachers Ltd. in Spilsby is seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Mentor to support pupils needing emotional and behavioural help. You will deliver 1:1 and small group support, applying respected strategies to promote engagement and resilience.

The role starts in September and offers full-time hours with a view to permanence for the right candidate. A supportive team and opportunities to develop behaviour management skills are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH needs in children or young people.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
• Ability to remain calm, resilient and consistent in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Implement behaviour support strategies to help pupils manage emotions and regulate behaviour.
• Work closely with teaching staff to adapt activities and remove barriers to learning.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and resilience.
• Respond to challenging behaviours in a calm, patient, and consistent manner, using de-escalation techniques where necessary.
• Support pupils throughout the school day, including transitions, breaktimes, and structured learning activities.
