Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour & Resilience Mentor for a specialist secondary setting in the Trafford area, supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, including ASC, ADHD, anxiety, attachment difficulties, trauma-related behaviours, emotional regulation needs, low self-esteem, and challenging behaviour.

The Role involves working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students both academically and emotionally, building strong relationships and contributing

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional learning needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Calm, resilient, and patient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Behaviour & Resilience Mentor for a specialist secondary setting in the Trafford area, supporting students aged 11-16 with a range of SEMH needs, including ASC, ADHD, anxiety, attachment difficulties, trauma-related behaviours, emotional regulation needs, low self-esteem, and challenging behaviour.

The Role

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs


• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills


• A calm, resilient, and patient approach


• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities


• A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people


• Experience in education, youth work, care, coaching, support work, or similar settings


• Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
