Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour & Learning Mentor for a specialist provision in Salford. You will support pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH/SEND needs, helping them engage with learning and develop positive behaviours in and out of lessons.

Join a nurturing team focused on safeguarding and student progress, with an immediate start and term-time schedule. This role offers ongoing professional development and support from Teaching Personnel.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs.
  • Background in education, youth work, coaching, support work, residential care, or similar settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and professionally.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Team Teach training is advantageous but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Help students access learning and remain focused during lessons.

  • Support students during unstructured times, transitions, and enrichment activities.
  • Work alongside teaching staff, families, and external professionals to support student progress.
  • Monitor, record, and report on behaviour, wellbeing, and achievement.

Behaviour & Learning Mentor

Salford | Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start Available

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education and reach their full potential? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behaviour & Learning Mentor to join a specialist alternative provision in the Salford area.

This rewarding role involves supporting students aged 11-16 who require additional intervention to succeed in education. The provision supports pupils with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, trauma-related needs, attachment difficulties, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, and behavioural needs.

The school offers small class sizes, a nurturing approach to education, and a strong focus on relationship-building. Staff work collaboratively to help students re-engage with learning, develop confidence, improve behaviour, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom. This makes it an ideal setting for candidates who are passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
