Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking an Operations Manager to deliver a professional security service that meets contractual obligations. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead a large security team, and ensure safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage budgets, audits, and training programmes across sites, including high-profile events and complex environments.

• Previous security experience in a management role in a busy environment.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a large team.
• SIA Door Supervisor license.
• SIA CCTV license.

Responsibilities

• Overview of management and finance system for the site.
• Day-to-day diary management and forward planning; liaise with client stakeholders.
• Lead, manage and motivate direct reports; set goals, review performance and develop staff.
• Recruitment, interviews, compliance and induction for new joiners.
• Organise team training sessions and trainer liaison.
• Weekly site compliance audits: First Aid, fire equipment, radios.
• Attend client and internal meetings as required.
• Manage training and career development; attend required sessions.
• Engage in internal/external networking to stay updated on industry developments.
• Maintain accurate assignment instructions and monthly welfare meetings.
• Conduct risk assessments for Carlisle Support Services and Somerset House; ensure up-to-date.
• Manage sickness, holidays, absence and overtime per policies and customer requirements; uphold Health and Safety.
• Maintain knowledge of control room systems (Access Control, CCTV).
• Create and update a comprehensive training matrix.
• Handle client/Carlisle requests as needed.
• Organise monthly meetings, monitor KPIs and manage budgets.
• Review budget spend and communicate actions from meetings.
