Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting Mobile Security Officers to work across sites between Grimsby and Walpole, on a long‑term national infrastructure project. You will patrol locations, respond to CCTV activations, and help maintain a safe site environment.

The role is night-shift focused with a company vehicle on duty, full uniform and PPE, and opportunities for development. Immediate start available on a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor, or Close Protection) required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Previous security experience, ideally in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, reliable, and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular mobile security patrols across project locations.
• Respond to CCTV alerts and incidents quickly and effectively.
• Prevent unauthorised access to restricted areas.
• Protect people, property, equipment and infrastructure.

Join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects and become part of a professional security team protecting a major new development on behalf of Laing O'Rourke and Select Security.

We are currently recruiting Mobile Security Officers to work across multiple locations between Grimsby and Walpole. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced security professionals looking for long-term, stable work, excellent earning potential, and the chance to be involved in a prestigious construction project.

Working primarily on night shifts, you'll use a company vehicle to patrol designated areas, respond to CCTV activations, and help maintain a safe and secure environment across remote site locations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Conducting regular mobile security patrols across project locations
• Responding quickly and effectively to CCTV alerts and incidents
• Preventing unauthorised access to restricted areas
• Protecting people, property, equipment, and infrastructure
• Maintaining accurate records and incident reports
• Working closely with fellow security officers, site teams, and project stakeholders
• Providing a professional and customer-focused security presence at all times

What We Offer

£14.00 per hour increasing to £14.90 following successful probation

Average 54 hours per week, providing excellent earning potential

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A valid SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor, or Close Protection)
• A full UK driving licence
• Previous security experience, ideally within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial environments
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A professional, reliable, and proactive approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good judgement, integrity, and a strong commitment to safety
