Job summary

Laing O'Rourke in partnership with Select Security is recruiting Security Officers for a major substations project near High Marnham, Newark-on-Trent. Positions are available for Day and Night shifts on 12-hour rotations, with an average 54-hour week and immediate starts.

You will protect personnel, assets and infrastructure, conduct access control, patrols and CCTV monitoring, and work as part of a professional site-security team. Full uniform and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or Close Protection) required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider security team.
• Strong customer service focus, integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Day shift: manning gatehouse, controlling access, booking in visitors, contractors and deliveries, conducting security checks and recording results, acting as first point of contact.
• Night shift: mobile patrols with site vehicle, monitor remote areas and boundaries, respond to CCTV and incidents, report hazards and breaches.

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, is recruiting a team of professional Security Officers to support the construction of a major new substation project near High Marnham.

We currently have opportunities available for both Day and Night Security Officers, working 12-hour shifts on a long-term basis, with average weekly hours of approximately 54 hours.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional security team on a high-profile construction project, with immediate starts available.

About the Role

As part of the site security team, you will play a vital role in protecting personnel, assets and infrastructure while ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone on site.

Day Shift Duties

• Manning the gatehouse and controlling access to site
• Booking in visitors, contractors and deliveries
• Conducting security checks and maintaining accurate records
• Providing a professional and welcoming first point of contact

Night Shift Duties

• Conducting mobile patrols across the project using a site vehicle
• Monitoring remote working areas and site boundaries
• Responding to CCTV activations and security incidents
• Reporting hazards, breaches and suspicious activity

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A valid SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or Close Protection)

• Sound judgement, integrity and reliability
• Previous experience within construction, infrastructure or site security environments (desirable)
