Job summary

Laing O'Rourke in partnership with Select Security is seeking an Area Security Supervisor to oversee security operations across multiple construction and infrastructure sites in the North & Midlands.

You will lead Security Officers, coordinate resources, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering services safely and to company standards. A valid SIA licence and UK driving licence are required. This role offers an immediate start, full uniform and PPE, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence required (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or Close Protection).
• Proven experience supervising security teams on construction sites.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; able to manage multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support teams of Security Officers across multiple sites within the region.
• Conduct site visits and performance checks to ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
• Coordinate staffing and deployment to maintain effective coverage across all projects.
• Support recruitment, induction, training, and development of security personnel.
• Monitor high standards of customer service and professional conduct.
• Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Manage incident reporting, site documentation, and administrative tasks.
• Investigate security incidents and escalate as appropriate.
• Ensure operations comply with health and safety and client expectations.

North & Midlands Region | Construction & Infrastructure Projects

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, is seeking an experienced Area Security Supervisor to oversee security operations across multiple construction and infrastructure projects throughout the North and Midlands.

As an Area Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing security personnel, coordinating resources, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring security operations are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support teams of Security Officers across multiple sites within the region
• Conduct regular site visits and performance checks to ensure compliance with company and client requirements
• Coordinate security staffing and deployment to maintain effective coverage across all projects
• Support recruitment, induction, training, and development of security personnel
• Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders
• Manage incident reporting, activity logs, site documentation, and other administrative requirements
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, escalating issues where appropriate
• Ensure security operations are delivered in accordance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and client expectations
• Provide support during emergencies and security-related incidents across the operational area

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A valid SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor, or Close Protection)
• A full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points
• Previous experience within a supervisory or management role in the security industry
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer-based reporting systems
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and make effective decisions under pressure
• A professional approach, high levels of integrity, and a commitment to delivering excellent service
