Securitas UK in Swindon is hiring a Security Officer to provide a professional security service protecting employees, visitors, property and assets while delivering excellent customer service. The role supports compliance with site instructions and customer requirements, upholding integrity, vigilance, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence required.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Strong English communication skills, written and spoken.
• Good IT skills and ability to report incidents clearly.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors with a professional security presence.
• Conduct regular patrols, site inspections, and monitor CCTV and alarms.
• Control access to the site and manage visitor procedures.
• Respond to incidents and evacuations, following procedures.
• Carry out searches, key management, and parking control as needed.
• Complete incident reports and security logs accurately.
• Support health and safety procedures and maintain a safe environment.

The Security Officer will ensure site security remains compliant with assignment instructions and customer requirements, maintaining the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism. A Security Officer plays a key role in supporting a safe and secure working environment at this innovative and technology-focused site.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors while maintaining a professional security presence.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols, site inspections, and monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems.
• Control access to the site, manage visitor and contractor procedures, and prevent unauthorised entry.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and security breaches, following escalation and evacuation procedures where required.
• Carry out searches, lock/unlock duties, key management, and traffic or parking control as required.
• Complete accurate incident reports, activity logs, handovers, and security records.
• Support health & safety procedures, identify hazards, and help maintain a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and varying shift patterns
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Previous security experience in a corporate or industrial environment (desirable)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and incident reporting systems
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Calm, professional, and able to work effectively under pressure
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
