Job summary

Securitas UK in Winchester is hiring a Security Officer to protect staff, property and information at a major R&D laboratory and cloud data centre. You will maintain high integrity, vigilance and professionalism on site.

From day one you’ll access learning opportunities, mentorship and benefits. The role requires a valid SIA licence, flexibility for nights (17:00–05:00) and 4 on/4 off shifts, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Previous Security Experience Preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Physically fit and able to complete long patrols.
• Good report writing and incident reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Protection of Property & Premises: Prevent unauthorised access and monitor security systems.
• Patrol internal and external areas as instructed.
• Manage traffic and parking restrictions.
• Conduct security equipment checks.
• Control keys, locking/unlocking, and access passes.
• Maintain logs and records.
• Handle lost property in line with procedures.
• Health & Safety: Support staff, visitors, and contractors while safeguarding the premises.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and report incidents.
• Keep emergency routes clear and equipment accessible.
• Report shortages of first aid supplies.
• Notify the Security Operations Centre (SOC) of emergencies.
• Investigate fire alarm activations.

A Security Officer must uphold the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism, ensuring all site procedures and client requirements are met. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.
