Anchor Group Services is seeking a Security Officer for The Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton. The role involves 4 on/off shifts from 10:15 to 22:15, totaling about 42 hours per week. A valid SIA licence is required, with CCTV experience preferred.

Job Role: Security Officer

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 10:15-22:15 - average 42 hours per week

Pay: £14.31 per hour

Location: Marlands Shopping Centre, Southampton,SO14 7SJ

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services,for an experienced Security Officer to join our established security team basedat The Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring activity to ensure a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff. You will respond promptly to incidents, liaise professionally with members of the public and site management, and maintain accurate records in line with operational procedures. A strong presence, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding site security standards are essential.

The successful candidate must have a valid SIA Licence as aminimum, with CCTV preferred but not essential as training will beprovided. You will be required toprovide a high level of customer service to visitors in the centre, completepatrols and remain vigilant at all times.

Duties include:

• Protecting the client’s property, people and/orassets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sitespublished Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and site‑specific procedures
  
• Preventing losses and damage by reportingirregularities; informing offenders of policy and procedures
  
• Preventing and escalating incidents in a timely,accurate and appropriate manner to the Control Room/ Shift Manager/OperationsManager/Emergency Services as appropriate for serious incidents
  
• Operating and monitoring site CCTV equipment
  
• Completing reports by recording observations,information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  
• Maintaining organisation's stability andreputation by complying with legal requirements
  
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishingrelated results as needed
  
• Acting as a first line support to customers andvisitors to site, providing a professional and friendly service
  
• Understanding the needs of our customer, respondaccordingly to customer queries and requests and take appropriate action
  
• Maintaining professional conduct at all times.
  

Requirements

• Full 5-year employment checkable history
  
• Valid frontline SIA licences DS or SG
  
• Customer Service experience and confidence to handleconflict in a correct manner
