Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is hiring a Retail Security Officer for Lidl Teignmouth. You will protect customers and staff, deter theft, and operate security systems. Full training and a thorough induction are provided to prepare you for the role.

The position offers day shifts (including weekends) and a 47-hour week with overtime available for holiday/absence cover. A valid Door Supervision or Security Guarding license is required to apply.

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License is required.
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of unemployment/education.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor.
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training.
• Utilise store security systems including CCTV and EAS gates.
• Collaborate with covert security operatives.
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders.
• Complete incident reports and company documentation.
• Report crime incidents using a company handset.
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety.
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets.
• Provide security updates during store briefings.
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all customers and staff.
