Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Security Officer for the Lidl Teignmouth store in Teignmouth. The role involves guarding the store, deterring theft, and using CCTV and EAS systems to maintain a secure environment. Training and full induction are provided.

Location is Exeter Road Teignmouth (TQ14 8HE). Position: 28 hours per week with overtime for holidays/absences. Pay is £14.30 per hour, with day shifts only (9am–10pm Mon–Sat, 9am–4pm Sundays).

• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided handset
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Requirements

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education
• Previous experience in a retail security role
