Job summary

Mitie has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Security Officer at our Lidl Western Avenue location. The role offers full training and a strong entry into the security industry with excellent benefits and a comprehensive induction.

You will act as a deterrent on the shop floor, use CCTV and EAS systems, and collaborate with other security personnel to investigate losses and maintain a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Door Supervision or Security Guarding License.
• Five-year checkable employment history or documented gaps.
• Previous retail security experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor.
• Use CCTV and EAS gates to monitor activity and deter loss.
• Detain offenders following health and safety training.
• Record incidents and complete reports accurately.
• Provide security updates during store briefings.
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education
• Previous experience in a retail security role
