Job summary

Wilson James in Greater London is seeking a Security Controller to manage day-to-day Control Room Operations, CCTV monitoring, access control, and incident reporting across client sites.

You will conduct regular patrols, respond promptly to alarms, assist in evacuations, and adapt to different client sites, working within a diverse team on day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Hold a current DS SIA Licence.
• CCTV Licence.
• Proven experience in a security role or similar position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV and access control; assist Site Manager and Duty Managers.
• Conduct regular patrols to prevent unauthorised access, theft or vandalism.
• Monitor access points and security procedures; respond to alarms and incidents.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents and concerns.

The assistance to client workers and visitors for designated areas. About the Role:

As a Security Controller, you will be responsible for:

• The Controller is responsible for all day-to-day Control Room Operations CCTV monitoring, CCTV investigations, Access Control etc. As well as assisting the Site Manager and Duty Managers.
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• CCTV Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
