Job summary

Wilson James in Westhill is recruiting a Security Officer on a permanent basis. The role requires a current DS SIA Licence, proven security experience, and the ability to patrol and monitor premises, handle incidents, and liaise with staff and authorities.

You will work full time, 4 on/4 off, 42 hours weekly, days only, with a starting pay of £13.45 per hour. Join a team dedicated to safety, high standards, and professional service across varied client sites, with opportunities for progression,

About the Role:

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
