About the Role
Are you an inspirational, driven, and enthusiastic SEND Teacher who wants to make a long-term, positive difference to the lives, progress and development of children? Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision settings in Newcastle on a full-time, long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome and there will be opportunities for part of the ECT qualification to be completed whilst in the role. The school supports pupils across the 4-19 age range.
- The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEND such as SEMH of varying levels. All subject specialisms will be considered.
- Pupils have been excluded from mainstream school and some pupils may display challenging behaviour, so the resilience of the successful candidate will be key.
- Stretching and challenging the learning and progress of all pupils.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- A key part of the role will be differentiating lessons appropriately and working effectively alongside other staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that suits their individual needs and learning styles.

Pay, Hours and Contract
- Pay: Between £130-210 per day.
- Hours: 08:30-16:00.
- Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Location: Newcastle.
Experience, Qualifications and Requirements
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
- QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning.
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
