Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant for a secondary school in Mansfield. The role involves supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, including 1:1 support, to keep them engaged in learning and in line with the school’s inclusive approach.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive team and contribute to maintaining positive learning environments with clear boundaries.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Experience providing 1:1 support.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• A positive and inclusive approach to supporting young people.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils as required.
• Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour to remain engaged in learning.
• Promote inclusive education and positive behaviour throughout the school.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and maintain consistent boundaries.
