Job summary

TimePlan Education Group is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a specialist secondary school in Rochdale. You will support pupils with ASC, ADHD and SEMH, providing 1:1, small-group and classroom assistance to help regulate emotions and access learning.

Working with teachers and SEN professionals, you will build positive relationships, apply de-escalation strategies and promote safe, inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Patient, resilient and consistent in approach.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour and staying calm under pressure.
• Engaging, proactive and passionate about supporting young people.
• Experience in behaviour support, SEN, SEMH, youth work or education.
• Ideally experience in residential, care or specialist behaviour setting.
• Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support.
• Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Use behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Remain calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN professionals.
• Encourage pupils to engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.
• Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive environment.
