Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a confident Behaviour Mentor to join a primary school near Bordesley Green from September. You will provide 1:1 and small-group SEN and behaviour support, following EHCPs and BSPs, while building strong relationships with pupils across SEN hubs and classrooms.

The role focuses on de-escalation, engagement, and emotional regulation, with close collaboration alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff for ongoing progress in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • De-escalation and behaviour management training is desirable (e.g. TeamTeach).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Specialist school, alternative provision or behaviour support experience welcomed.
  • Reliable, resilient and committed to a long-term role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN and behaviour support.
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils.
  • Follow EHCPs, BSPs and individual support strategies.
  • De-escalate challenging situations calmly and confidently.
  • Support learning, engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
