Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified Second Chef to deliver hotel/restaurant standards with a focus on fresh seasonal food and work-life balance. You will support the Head Chef, tailor menus to residents, and help create nutritious, flavoursome meals that meet high standards across our homes.

Qualifications

Personable and warm approach with residents' wellbeing.
City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
Good understanding of nutrition.
Experience with fresh seasonal food.
Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment.
Engage with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus.
Good understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
Assist Head Chef in menu development.
Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes.
Create a warm, efficient and fun environment in the kitchen.
Work within budget.
Complete regular audits.
Manage stock control.

Education

City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
