Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Second Chef to deliver hotel/restaurant standards with better work-life balance, crafting nutritious menus while liaising with residents to tailor meals. You will support the Head Chef, manage stock, and maintain food safety across our care homes.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach focused on resident wellbeing.
• Good understanding of nutrition and fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to engage residents to tailor menus and create appetising dishes.
• Strong HACCP knowledge and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage kitchen in Head Chef's absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Prepare high-quality, nutritious dishes from fresh produce.
• Create a warm, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and complete regular stock audits.
