Job summary

Runwood Homes is recruiting a Second Chef to join our Hospitality team. You will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals for residents, without split shifts or long hours. You will support the Head Chef and lead in their absence, ensuring high standards and person-centred hospitality.

You will have catering experience, Food Hygiene Level 2, and ideally NVQ Level 2, with a focus on dietary needs and safe, efficient kitchen operations within the care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and accommodations.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all stages of food preparation meet high standards for residents' well-being.
• Cook and serve meals in accordance with the menu and company requirements.
• Comply with Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations (England).
• Ensure meals are presented and taste good with consistent quality.
• Maintain portion control and minimise waste.
• Meet individual dietary requirements by following quantity charts/recipes.
