Job summary

Runwood Homes Limited is seeking a Second Chef to join its hospitality team. You will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals to residents, supporting the Head Chef and taking the lead in their absence. The role emphasizes quality, resident wellbeing, and adherence to safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have catering experience, Food Hygiene Level 2, and ideally an NVQ Level 2. The position offers opportunities for progression within Runwood Homes.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all stages of food preparation meet high standards for residents’ wellbeing.
• Cook and serve meals in line with the menu and company requirements.
• Comply with Food Safety & Hygiene regulations.
• Maintain meal quality in presentation and taste.
• Maintain portion control and minimize waste.
• Meet dietary requirements with appropriate quantities, charts, and recipes.
• Maintain safety, health, and efficient working environment.
• Store all food and items properly; monitor stock and rotate inventory.
• Deputise for Head Chef when required.
